cd cover Singer Galeazzi hails from Umbria in Italy, and comes to this recording with a deep traditional sense of the music. Probably best known in the US for her performances with Philippe Eidel's Mammas project, she is also a veteren of classical, folk and new music. This 1997 recording was reissued in the wake of her new-found popularity, but it stands on its own. Accompanied by Massimo Nardi's guitar, percussion from Nicola Raffone, and Carlo Mariani on launeddas, a reed instrument with a drone much like a bagpipe. Guests supply a minimum of flute, clarinet or bass.

Artists:
Lucilla Galeazzi: voice
Massimo Nardi: guitars and arrangements
Nicola Raffone: drums and percussion
Carlo Mariani: launeddas
Guest artists: Francesco Marini (flute, clarinet and sax) and Mauro Battisti (contra bass)

"...a classic voice; controlled, refined and yet so full of spirit it absolutely explodes.... There is a modern edge to the music, full of contemporary references that never quite overwhelm the traditional sound of the music. No matter your geographical taste in music, this is a voice you should know better." - RootsWorld

Please note!
Most of our CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and we are not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever we can, we used recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
