Please note!
Most of our CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. I guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
Thanks- Cliff, cdRoots

Fromseier+Hockings - Flot Gevir
A 7 song EP of great music for guitar and fiddle by Ditte Fromseier Mortensen and Sigurd Hockings. This is their debut as an impulsive and playful duo. Old swinging traditional tunes and songs are combined with Ditte and Sigurd's new compositions to make this a solid piece for Danish folk music fans.

Habbadam - Still Young
The Danish trio of Ditte Fromseier Mortensen (fiddle), Hanna Wiskari (saxophones) and Sigurd Hockings (guitar) maybe be thirty-somethings now, but they are as fresh as ever in this interpretive folk music recording. True folk roots and an adventurous spirt assure their youthful verve as they play and sing their way through 13 wonderful songs.

Fiolministeriet - Fiolministeriet
This Danish 'ministry of fiddles' has a strong, vibrant sound. Cello, violins and viola offer a classical structure, but the tunes are traditional and trad/arr, and full of life and energy. Ditte Fromseier, Kirstine Elise Pedersen and Kirstine Sand play pieces that range from simple elegance to thundering passion, echoing modern energies one moment and and baroque elegance the next. Listen!

Himmerland - The Spider in the Fiddle
The band calls it "New Danish music across styles, cultures and frontiers." A multi-culti band with roots in many parts of the world, they build a sophisticated sound with a small band. The members are Eskil Romme (sax), Ditte Fromseier (violin, vocal), Morten Alfred Høirup (guitar, vocal), Andrzej Krejniuk (electric bass) and Ayi Solomon (percussion). This is the RootsWorld's Music of the Month selection for December, 2014. (This CD was donated by the band to help support the magazine and radio program.)

Eskil Romme - Himmerlandsmelodier
The Danish saxophone and accordion player, Eskil Romme, is a man of relatively few words, but a lot of idealism. He performs a mix of traditional and contemporary Nordic and Celtic music,a nd with his wife, he also runs an organic farm, so he knows a bit about 'roots.'. The CD features accordion player Karen Tweed (UK), the piano player Peter Rosendal (DK) and the violinist Ditte Fromseier Mortensen (DK). He is also joined by guitarist Morten Alfred Høirup, who says of Romme, "if you have a listen to the music, I am sure that you'll agree that this is a beautiful and truely original piece of work, one of the kind that stays in your head and makes you wonder."

Kirstine Sand - Det dansende par
Debut CD by a fine young Danish fiddler, playing traditional Danish music witha lot of verve, joy and energy. The measure of respect she has already gathere din Demnark is evident in the list of guests who agreed to join her on this recording: Rasmus Zeeberg (guitar), Nikolaj Wamberg (double bass), Andreas Tophøj (violin), Charlotte Støjberg Scmidt (piano), Louise Støjberg (vocal), Kirstine Elise Pedersen (cello), Ditte Fromseier Mortensen (viola, violin).

Anja Praest Mikkelsen - Hemmeligheden / The Secret
Clarinetist from Phonix, Anja Præst Mikkelsen, stands out front for the first time on her own recording, although she is joined by fellow band members and other great musicians form the new folk movement in Denmark: Sigurd Hockings' Nikolaj Busk, Jesper Vinther, Ditte Fromseier Mortensen, Andreas Tophøj, Jakob Holdensen, Peter Sejersen, Rikke Lundorff, Kirstine Elise Pedersen, Rasmus Henriksen, Jesper Falch and Jes Kroman.

Helene Blum - En Sød Og Liflig Klang
Folk and modern interpretations of Jule music old and new by the Danish singer, accompanied by Harald Haugaard (who also produced the recordings), with Ditte Fromseier, Harald Haugaard, Kirstine Elise Pedersen, lea Havelund, Mikkel Bøggild, Sune Hånsbæk, Torben Sminge, Hans Mydtskov, Karen Mose, Jullie Hjetland, Kristian Stærke on violins, cello, guitar and vocals. One of the best Christmas recordings I have heard in a while. Highly recommended.

Kristine Heeboll - 10 Point
The Danish fiddler (of Trio Mio and Phonix) steps back to the front on her 2007 release of original tunes, backed by an impressive ensemble from around Scandinavia: Dan Gisen Malmquist (clarinet and bass clarinet), Peter Eget (harmonika), Ditte Fromseier (violin and bratsch), Andreas Tophøj (violin) and Cecillie Hyldgaard (cello). The sounds run from elegant to exhuberant, and Heebøll once again shows that she has what it takes to bring Danish folk music to the frontline of Nordic roots music.

Himmerland - New Roots Music from Denmark
Himmerland performs new Danish music composed by the five musicians of the band. These are some of the most experienced and traveling musicians from Denmark, all specialized in different genres like folk, world and jazz. All of the musicians are well-known in the Danish roots scene and play with some of the countries most respected groups including Haugaard and Høirup, Habbadam, Fiolministeriet, Afenginn, New Jungle Orchestra and Kryss.
