From Catalonia in Spain, their music is based on traditional Arab sources, specifically from Moroccan and Andalucian cultures and the Sufi traditions, but also contemporary jazz and other types of Mediterranean music. Leader Mohamed Soulimane is originally from Chefchaouen, Morocco while band mates Jordi Gaig and Joan Rectoret are native Catalans. Barcelona has absorbed Arabic culture to such extent that it now just another facet of Spain's cultural kaleidoscope. The CD also features Paco Ibáñez, Omar Sosa and Sergio Ramos (former drummer with Ojos de Brujo).
