cd cover Olle Lindvall
Self titled (Drone #25) $17.99

This is a gorgeous recording of folk tunes reinvented for the solo acoustic guitar, and is a welcome new addition to the folk repertoire of Sweden. Lindvall is one of the best of the Swedish folk guitarists, known around here for his work with the excellent trio Toxa. There are also three pieces for solo flute included in the 19 tracks of this recording.

Listen:
Basternarna
Gossa Anders den aldre
jemt Erik (flute solo)

From the record label:
I get just as exhilarated every time I hear a truly headstrong musician. In the case of Olle Lindvall all my senses become as clear as maple leaves on a beautiful autumn day. When he plays a polska it's like a gentle bear-hug right here and now, entirely accessible while expressive enough for a whole universe.

He probably sits on his musical throne of gold playing his guitar until even the crispbread on the kitchen table jumps for joy.

The personality of Olle with his tunes as if carved in stone yet light as a downy feather. They swirl around in my head and I wish I, like Eva Karlsson, had been dedicated a melody as beautiful as raindrops on hand-blown glass.

For me this whole album is one long poem filled with reflections. A soothing shimmer brimming with balm for the soul.

With this CD the guitar, in one fell swoop, becomes a solo Swedish folk music instrument in its own right and we have a well articulated, unobtrusive and graceful player ruling the roost.

I bow with respect,
Mikael Marin, Väsen

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
