Folk music from the Torne River Valley of Sweden, both traditional and newly composed by the band's members. Many of the folk songs of this region are also common in Finland, so expect to hear some common threads now and then.

Jord är en spännande folkmusikgrupp som med mustiga sånger och musik från Tornedalen skapat en alldeles egen klang. I Tornedalen finns en rik folkviseskatt att ösa ur och gruppen presenterar en blandning av nyskrivet material och äldre traditionella sånger, mycket på tornedalsfinska. De flesta sångerna är även spridda i Finland men har i Tornedalen fått sin egen variant av text och melodi.

I gruppen Jord ingår Susanne Rantatalo sång, slagverk, Erling Fredriksson sång, kontrabas, harpa, flöjt, Jan Johansson sång, dragspel, durspel, kontrabas, och Gun Olofsson sång, gitarr, flöjt, slagverk.

Musiken med rötter i den tornedalska myllan håller på att nå söderut.
