There are still secrets and surprises out there, and here is one for me: Swedish 'new folk' by Huggevill, three musicians from Hälsingland - Jonas Olsson, guitar, fiddle, harmonium, keyboards, Örjan Hans-Ers, viola, fiddle, double bass and Görgen Antonsson, fiddle, viola, jew's harp. Sounds of the past are combined with modern tonal and rythmic influences. This recording is music for a theatre production of a play and all of the music is newly composed by Jonas Olsson. They are also accompanied by a number of guest musicians, with special note to Johanna Bölja's amazing vocals.
