cd cover Fatang
walkie-talkie (artist release)
$16.99

A 2006 release by the Swedish new-routes folk group is edgy, clever, musically exciting and full of rich twists and turns. Fans of the Vasen quartet recordings will find this one up to their standards! Peter Rousu (electric bass and guitar), Olle Bohm (percussion) and Henrik Eriksson (nyckelharpa - keyed fiddle) are playing tighter, more adventurously and with a lot more bite, and while I loved the last recording, this one truly "rocks." Highly recommended.

Peter says: "We made the recordings in a little 19th century cabin ouside the very small village of Vadstena in three days in April. Almost everything is one-takes and the music is as optimistic and sunny as before. I think are playing with more confidence and more loosely this time. I don't know... you have to listen!"

This Swedish trio plays traditional folk music from the province of Uppland and new compositions of their own device. In style, they drift between the dreamy romance of Johan Hedin and the percussive bite of the Seglem/Hogemo/Isungset trios, landing squarely in a place that is neither tradition nor avant garde, but a comfortable and unique blend of the two.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
