NOTE: I have had varying success with the DVD video components. It works great on a stand-alone DVD player and on our 2003 laptop, but is not so good on our older (1999) desk-top computer, so consider your equipment if the DVD is a paramount concern. Consider the DVD a free bonus that comes without warranty, OK?

Press release from the record label:
We should not forget the attitude and spirit which were found in the albums titled "Susana Seivane" and "Alma de Buxo". Her new album features the same collaborators that have accompanied her during the last few years, as well as some new ones. Her new album titled "Mares de Tempo" is the artistic musical result of an unprecedented development of traditional music.

Her first intention was to combine the interpretation of popular music with today´s parameters that shroud the phenomenon of music. "Mares de Tempo" focuses on her first line of thought, strengthening the talent of a very international artist. Never a truer word spoken- as Susana Seivane ventures to sing on five of the twelve new tracks, without counting the hidden track."-Its been a project that I have wanted to do with my musicians who have accompanied me and who have toured with me throughout these last two years" - Susana states. In continuation she mentions them in turn: Brais Maceiras (accordeon) Xurxo Iglesias (bouzuki) Carlos Freire (percussion) Teresa Saias (drums). Roberto Somoza (sax and flute) and Quiqe Alvarado (Bass) are the new founded members of her latest recording. Furthermore "Mares de Tempo " includes collaborations from Carlos Castro (percussion), Xavier Cedrón (violin), and Xavier Gatañaduy (guitars).

Susana has counted on the important collaborations from Xavier Paxariño (flutes); Guadi Galego, singer and instrumentalist from Berrogüetto. As well as composing some of the tracks, she has also accompanied the backing vocals. El Colectivo de Música Tradicional Ruote de A Coruña, (The Traditional Music Collective Ruote from A Coruña) interprets an exceptional and new version of Maneo, first track on Susana´s first album. Rodrigo Romaní (Milladoiro) composer and harpist also intervenes and percussionist Viascón, from the "Jarbanzo Negro" school of learning plays the saw (an unusual instrument) nd his trumpet.

According to the protagonist of the "Mares de Tempo" project-" It follows the same line as the last albums but it takes one step further forward, a well taken and natural step - an evolution of the last album with the same instrumentation. The difference lies in the arrangements that are somewhat more innovative. The innovation lies in fusing contemporary sounds with tradition by using the traditional percussion." Susana Seivane has posed for the photos taken by the prestigious photographer Xurxo Lobato (Wwnner of the Ortega and Gasset Prize in 2003). The photos were taken in the Galician country house of San Cibrián in Santiago de Compostela. Furthermore, the Seivane album includes a video-clip recording and DVD with images of her concerts, different international appointments, the making of and moments taken at the studio recording in The Casa de Tolos de Baiba.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
