Discopolis 5000 pays homage to 2 fundamental Spanish folk artists: bagpiper Quique Almendros de La Musgaña, and the Basque singer songwriter, who recently went missing, Imanol, who is accompanied by the historic French voice Geroges Moustaki.

We finish off with another personal note by Jose Miguel López concerning this Boa production in collaboration with Spanish National Radio 3: "This album offers us a chance to celebrate. It is a journey through many diverse cultures produced in Spain. It defines the "discopolitan" character of tolerance and multicultural co-existence. The song by Pedro Guerra, Contamíname, explains our intentions to unite wolof and Spanish. These diverse collaborations that occur, fall into the willingness of dialogue between cultures which enriches all of us but only when we know how to maintain our own identity. The selection of tracks was done with the utmost care, always looking for the most creative songs within the innovative ethnic rhythms concept."

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
