Berrogüetto

If I had to have just 20 artists in my collection, this band from Galicia would have to be one of them. This recording (as their previous CD, Navicularia and their 2002 release Hepta) is lush, gorgeous, raw, rootsy and altogether remarkable in musicianship, composition and execution. Simply flawless, I think.
Musicians:
Quico Comesana: harp and bouzouki
Guillermo Fernandez: guitars
Isaac Palacin: percussion
Santiago Cribeiro: accordion and keyboards
Anxo Pintos: sax, flutes, fiddle, pipes and hurdy-gurdy
Quim Farinha: fiddle
Guadi Galego: lead vocals

Berrogüetto is the great musical paradox. They are tradition and innovation, old and new. Their music does not wear out, but is rediscovered with each listening. There is always something new; some sound we had not heard, some new intricate arrangement that we hadn't noticed before. And in discovering these new small bits of the music, we can enjoy a fantastic voyage. - Joao Maia, RootsWorld (Read the full review here.)

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
