cd cover Avadåa
Rätt & Slätt
$16.99

The 2002 edition of this long-lived yet for some reason little known folk-rock-jazz influenced band from Sweden. IN their home area of Skåne, in the south of Sweden, the phrase avadå is the equivalent of "and... so what?" but the music is anything but questioning or off-putting. Agressive, firmly rhythmic and full of energy, this band has a solid pedigree but is far from locked in the old sounds.

" It is demanding music, music with a lot of edges and excitement, yet also music with a lot of groove and enjoyment." - Folkworld.de

The band says:
Scanian ethno brought to you by Avadå, combining traditional material with compositions by members of the group, all with the special flavour that has come to be the trademark of Avadå. Deeply rooted in Swedish dance tradition spiced with african-, jazz- and funky grooves, due to the different background of the members, creating what they choose to call “Scanian ethno”.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
