Nina Ramsby and Martin Hederos
Visorna (Amigo, Sweden)
$17.99
Vocalist/guitarist Nina Ramsby and pianist Martin Hederos (who also plays harmoonium and Hammond organ) offer a new perspective on Swedish popular songs. They have chosen to interpret some 'classics' from the 70s by singer/songwriters like Cornelis Vreeswijk, Fred Åkerström, Olle Adolphson as well as more recent material by, in this context, less obvious contemporary artists like Eva Dahlgren and Bo Kaspers. A unique and personal sound from Sweden.

The label says:
Vocalist/guitarist Nina Ramsby (Salt, Grand Tone Music and Baxter) and pianist Martin Hederos (Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Hederos & Hellberg) has launched their first joint venture. A personal take on the Swedish song treasure triggered by their mutual love for the genre. On this, their first recording they have chosen to interpret the classics from the 70s by singer/songwriters like Cornelis Vreeswijk, Fred Åkerström, Olle Adolphson as well as more recent material by, in this context, less obvious contemporary artists like Eva Dahlgren and Bo Kaspers.
Many have travelled this road before but both Nina and Martin felt that there were so many things they could relate to, musically as well as lyrically in these songs that they wanted to borrow and try to assimilate as their own. They find it very rewarding to work with a material completely different from that what they normally do. Something that hopefully is evident on listening. Both Nina and Martin have a long past in rock music:

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
