In Swåp the Celtic; England, Ireland and Brittany, meet the Scandinavian and Sweden. The name (as well as the spelling) was natural, look up swap in the dictionary; it is about exchange, to swap someting in exchange for something you need. To give away to gain… In Swåp Karen Tweed, accordion, and Ian Carr, guitar, trade ideas and songs with Swedish fiddlers Ola Bäckström and Carina Normansson. When a reel meets a springlek and a waltz from Dalsland in Sweden collides with a valsounette from Brittany something new happens. Karen Tweed, hailing from London and Ian Carr, Welshman from Bangor, both have a past in Kathryn Tickell Band. Their shared discography contains some twenty odd releases. Besides Swåp they also have a duo together. Karen is also found in English group, the Poozies. Ola Bäckström, from Ore, in Dalarna and Carina Normansson, from Sala in Västmanland, are fiddlers considered to be among Swedens finest. Together these four are Swåp, a cultural clash with an unusually happy ending.

I Swåps musik möter den keltiska traditionen den svenska. Det tydliga släktskapet förenar, olikheterna berikar. Tradmaterial blandas med ofta hisnande vackra egna kompositioner, samtliga fyra medlemmar är egensinniga låtskrivare med en begåvning utöver det vanliga. I höstas turnerade Swåp i Japan i samband med releasen av Mosquito Hunter där! Nu är det dags för skivsläpp även här hemma. Det här är gruppens tredje fullängdare efter Swåp 1997 och [sic] 1999. Den här gången har de överträffat sig själva, plattan innehåller en räcka mycket starka egna låtar (och några lika starka inlånade); Titelspåret, en av många fantastiska låtar av Ola Bäckström, Karen Tweeds hypnotiska This Is My Pen, Ian Carrs hisnande vackra Fiskmås och Carina Normansson handfasta betraktelse över vardagslivets glädjeämnen i Creme Fraiche är några av höjdpunkterna på ett mycket starkt album.
