Susanne Rosenberg's "Rosenberg 7" has acheived some note in the US with their self titled US release, but this is the roots of the ensemble and every bit as rich and surprising as the more recent recording. Joined by Ulrika Bodén, Karin Holdar, Eva Rune, Sven Ahlbäck, Mikael Marin and Annika Wijnbladh, this ensemble of some of Sweden's best voices and instrumentalists delivers remarkably beautiful and sprited vocal music.
Swedish folk songs are sung in parts, in exciting arrangements with a backing of fiddle, viola and cello. Rosenberg has pioneered the Swedish folk song tradition, in particular the repertoire of the province of Gästrikland, which is where all the songs on this CD come from - ballads, love songs, herding songs and one or two comic songs. A very varied CD, ranging from solos by Susanne to songs played and sung by the whole septet.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
